TYPES OF BODY INJURES

This entry will talk about different kinds of injuries that a sporter can get.

+ If you get hurt during the practice of sports, this injuries are called "accidental" or acute:

         -Auto injury or self trauma.

-By contact: with another athlete, with instruments or sports equipment.

+ Sports injuries, the "typical" or chronic ones:
-There are injuries that affect the locomotor apparatus and they usually are repetitive and cumulative.

         - Muscular injuries: they are caused by external factors (bruises and wounds) and those produced by internal factors (distensions, tears, pulls or muscle breaks).

         - Tendons injuries: they are caused by the use of inappropriate material or footwear or because of irregular terrain or too hard to practice exercise (tendonitis) or as a result of a contusion (tendosynovitis).

-Ligament injuries: a bad movement or even a blow can cause a sprain, a strain or a rupture of the ligaments of the ankle, knee, and so on. There are different degrees that mark the severity of the injury.

-Lessions of bones: a strong trauma can cause a fracture of bone of greater or lesser degree (fissures) whose period of healing is usually more extensive than the rest of injuries.

In addition to fractures, other bone problems may occur, such as uneven growth, bone wear or periostitis, or inflammation of the periosteum (the membrane that lines the bone).

-Joint injuries: frequent in ball sports (basketball, soccer ...), we can talk about joint injuries, dislocations ... they are usually painful and often accompanied by other problems, mainly spills.

BODY EXPRESSION GAMES

In our last P.E lessons we have started a new dynamic of exercises that are very different from the common ones, like playing bastketball, football, or whatever. The function of this kind of games is the expression of the body, also lose your embarrassment and learn about how to spend time with all our classmates.

     - THE ENERGY BALL: everyone makes a circle and one person starts throwing an imaginary ball made of energy. You have to imagine it and you can make it smaller or bigger, as you wish, and also you can throw it the way you want.

     - BANG-BANG: the teacher points to anyone and this student has to bend down and the people on the right and left have to shoot each other. If the person in the middle doesn't bend down at time or the other two don't shoot, they die.

     - ZIP, ZAP, ZOP: people make a circle and one person starts saying "Zip" and choose another person to say the next word "Zap" and when someone fails, lose the game and the finalists remains.

     - TO GREET: you have to dance according to the music and when the teacher stops it, he/she will say a kind of greetment, like "you see an old friend", or "you meet someone" and you would shake hands with the nearest person.

     - EXPRESS AN IMAGE: the teacher will show an image and you have to express with your body that photo, but not describing it. You must express a feeling or an action that it inspires you (not only superficially)

    - THE DOLL: this game consists in acting like your partner or you are a doll and you only can move if the other person controls the threads. You can make an action or like a sculpture.

    - TOUCH THE WALLS: you have to move touching all the time the walls and then, the floor will be lava and you must run to a safe and high place.

    - MIME: you have to do action with your body at a certain number of temps from music, so your partner has to understand you without sounds. You can mime a sport, a routine (wake up,  brush your teeth, get dressed and go to school), or what you prefer.

    - HIGH, MEDIUM AND LOW LEVELS: in theatre or in dance, there are three different levels of body expression: high, medium and low. You have to dance at the rhythm of the music; when the teacher says "high level", you must dance like ballet dancer, with your arms high, when he says "medium level" you should keep dancing normally; and when he/she says "low level", you must bend down and try to walk in that position.
